Education
We promote the humane treatment of
animals and the spay/neuter of dogs
and cats through newspaper articles,
radio and TV interviews, advertisements,
fliers and children’s stories, and
conversations with children and adults.
We publish a newsletter three times a
year.
Spay/neuter
We subsidize low-cost spay/neuter for
pet owners unable to afford
veterinarians’ customary charges and
conduct three intensive spay/neuter
campaigns each year. To date more
than 4,900 dogs and cats have been
sterilized through our program.
Cooperation
We work with city and state health
authorities in educating the public about
the responsibilities of pet owners and in
conducting our sterilization campaigns.
We collaborate with other humane
societies in Mexico and abroad by
sharing information and coordinating our
activities. Our Canadian partner is
Mex-Can Pet Partners.
Rescue
We have rescued more than 1,900
homeless dogs and cats since 2002.
Most have been adopted by families in
Guanajuato, but some have found
homes in the United States and Canada.
We have no shelter and therefore
work with local veterinarians and with
Mex-Can Pet Partners and other
volunteers in placing the animals.
