Amigos de los Animales, a nonprofit organization run by volunteers, receives no support from the Mexican government and is not exempt from Mexican taxes. We depend entirely on donors, without whom we would cease to exist.
To help sustain our vital work in the community, last year we created a new donor category called Dear Friends (Queridos Amigos in Spanish), who donate $1200 or more in US dollars or the Mexican peso equivalent. As usual, a number of our supporters have come through for us. Unless they prefer to be anonymous, we recognize these donors at our anniversary party in February.
Another vital donor category we now call Loyal Friends (Amigos Leales). These are people who make monthly or annual donations to Amigos of any amount. Some of our donors have been making recurring donations to us for more than 20 years. We are especially grateful for the loyal support of these donors.
We realize that not everyone can support us at the Dear Friend level. But we hope that many of you who recognize our service to the Guanajuato community will become Loyal Friends by making a donation of any amount each month or once a year. Of course, we always appreciate every donation regardless of the amount or frequency.
