Our first campaign of the month was on Sunday, September 14, and was held at the Centro Nuevo Comienzo in the Las Palomas neighborhood of Marfil. Case no. 86 of the day became our 27,000th since we began sterilizing dogs and cats in 1999. We had expected to reach that milestone at our second campaign of September and consequently were unprepared to celebrate the event.
Normally we would have honored the dog or cat who represented that momentous achievement by presenting him or her with a bag of treats and some toys. A review of our registration list, however, indicates that it was a female cat named Paquita who should have been memorialized. Our sincere apologies to Paquita.

On September 28, we held our second campaign of the month and our 17th of the year, at the home belonging to Arely Dueñas and Victor Milan in Santa Teresa. It was another busy campaign, bringing the total for the month to 172 cases—105 in Las Palomas and 67 in Santa Teresa.

As always, we are grateful to our entire team of veterinarians and volunteers for their dedication to the program. And we are grateful for the support of our hosts and the community.
