Our Christmas Market on December 7 this year raised $54,895 pesos ($3,047 USD) for our sterilization and education program. This represents a 14.4% increase over last year’s market income of $48,004 pesos. Terri Rasmussen, who jointly held a holiday market with us and sold many attractive gift items from her Tiny Tiendita, donated all the profits from her sale to Amigos, bringing our total revenue from the event to $66,895 pesos ($3,709 USD).

We had a quality-control mystery shopper during the sale. Rosemary Conde and David Hester’s dog Mink, who, stopping by the market during the afternoon, decided to sample a Pâté Pruneau while no one was looking. Given the speed with which she devoured it, we believe she considered it worthy of a Michelin Star.

We are extremely grateful to our talented chef Susan Pataky, to Terri Rasmussen, and to our other volunteers who helped prepare the delicious food items, arrange for the use of the site, and work at the site during market day. All our food ingredients were donated by Susan and her husband Endre. We’re also grateful for non-food items that various people donated.
