Each year we celebrate our anniversary with a special event. In 2026, in response to your feedback, we’re turning our 24th anniversary into something new.
WHAT: An Amigos de los Animales sale in 3 parts, called SIP, SABOR, SHOP & SUPPORT
WHEN: February 15, 11am–5pm
WHERE: La Casa Grande, Mina del Nopal #20, San Javier
WHAT’S INCLUDED:
Collectibles Corner. This will be Guanajuato’s version of a swanky consignment shop on New York City’s Fifth Avenue or on trendy Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles or in an upscale Paris flea market.
Terri’s Tiny Tiendita. Terri Rasmussen channels her exquisite taste and buyer’s expertise into providing a vast collection of gorgeous items—many of them handmade and all of them unique, stunning, and intriguing.
Suzy’s Tienda. Suzy will not be queen of the cash register this year (though we’re hoping she’ll surprise us with a visit from Houston), but her spirit will permeate this supercharged thrift-store of bountiful, beautiful, bodacious BARGAINS, where you’ll find many hidden gems.
WHAT ABOUT TICKETS, FOOD, AND DRINKS?
No tickets are required! We’re doing away with the formal dinner and entertainment. But we know shopping is more fun when fueled by food and drinks. So, we’ll have a cash bar and street-food selection (also available for purchase).
HOW YOU CAN HELP US:

- Put SIP, SAVOR, SHOP & SUPPORT on your calendar.
- As soon as the New Year arrives, go through your closets and save for us any of your lightly used treasures that you would like to donate: clothing, kitchenware, dishware, small appliances, items for pets. All these are appropriate for Suzy’s Tienda. (No books, CDs, or DVDs, please.) You can start right now, by creating a little pile in an out-of-the-way corner of just an item or two for us. Then watch your pile grow in the coming days as you free up closet space.
For the Collectibles Corner we are seeking such items as furniture, vintage clothing and textiles, antiques, fine art, high-quality handicrafts, and fine jewelry.
Donations will go into Suzy’s Tienda or in the Collectibles Corner, depending upon their value. We will not be auctioning or raffling services or experiences at this event.

We’ll arrange to pick up your items and store them until the event in February. - We also need volunteers to help us run the event.
