Another successful sterilization campaign

On April 6, 2025, we sterilized 54 animals (24 female dogs, 9 male dogs, 16 female cats, and 5 male cats). This took place at the business of Luigi Dog Trainer on Calle Bugambillas, Number 40, in Yerbabuena. This modern facility provides attractive boarding facilities and was spacious enough for us to provide our services. Not to mention the well-equipped bathrooms.

Some of the boarding stalls are behind the vets: Abril Herrera, Ricardo Montes de Oca, and Sandra Hernández, enjoying the specious operating area

We were visited by Victoria Larrazolo, a long-time volunteer who moved to Spain last fall. She was in route to a new home in the U.S. She is the owner of Indie, who was a previous client of ours. They are looking forward to living in Utah.

Victoria and a happy Indie

We had five cats that arrived late in the afternoon, delaying the ending of the campaign because it takes longer for the anesthesia to wear off cats than dogs. But we were happy to provide sterilization services to them.

This year we have sterilized 513 animals. Since 2001 we have sterilized 26,412 pets. Though there are still too many unwanted animals in Guanajuato, there are fewer here than in other cities.

We thank the team headed by Julia Salido and the doctors: Abril Herrera, Ricardo Montes de Oca, and Sandra Hernández. Special thanks to Yiye Contreras who brought home-made, Argentine-style empanadas to share with all of us. Volunteers included: Rosemarie Conde, Beth Lozano, Yiye Contreras, Adhán Mata López, Beth Mingledorff, Suzy Thompson, Julie Boyles, Courtney Donaldson (who was amazing carrying so many heavy pets), Ana Luisa Miguel, Ivana Sofía Vargas, Maria Littleharles, Cintia Clarett Rodríguez Patróy, Manuel Salvador Herrejóu Martinéz, Tony López, Magelalena Rincón Bonilla, Dulce Sandoval, and Victoria Larrazolo.
