Our creative supporters

Recently several of our friends in the Guanajuato community have organized events that support our sterilization and education activities. We are very grateful for this support, which is helping us continue our vital work.

Susan Pataky celebrated her recent birthday with a fundraiser for Amigos

Susan Pataky turned her birthday party last month into a fundraiser for Amigos. She has many friends, and so the party was well attended. The $31,340 mxp that she and her husband Endre raised are being used to buy supplies for the goodies she’ll be making for our Christmas Market on December 1 and the delicious food that we’ll serve at our Annual Fiesta on February 16

Everyone who came to the event had loads of fun, and lucky attendees won a bunch of terrific raffle prizes. ¡Felicidades and thank you, Susan!

Dyan Amirault’s special birthday was special for Amigos too

Dyan Amirault celebrated her 80th birthday on September 8 with a Mexican-themed party at her Guanajuato home. She pulled out all the stops: a large tent in case of incremental weather (fortunately not needed), live music performed by Aldo León and Ale Martínez, and extraordinary botanas prepared by chef Marion Pritchard. The party was a huge success.

Aware that Dyan did not want gifts, Marion, who has long supported Amigos, collected donations for Amigos from guests who wished to honor Dyan in some way. The donations amounted to $14,393 pesos, enough to cover the entire cost of 30 sterilizations. During the party Joslyn Lewis, Amigos treasurer, presented a framed certificate to Dyan describing the donation in her honor.

Our thanks to Marion and all those who contributed to Dyan’s special birthday present. Many happy returns, Dyan!
