November was a relatively laid-back campaign month, compared with October. At our two campaigns we sterilized a total of 62 animals, 35 dogs and 27 cats. (In October we sterilized 164.)
The first campaign took place on November 3 at the CHC Luigi Dog Trainer’s center in Yerbabuena, an ideal location because the modern building provided ample space, good lighting for our team, and pleasant surroundings for pet owners. We sterilized 12 female dogs, 4 male dogs, 9 female cats, and 6 male cats, for a total of 31 cases.
The second campaign, on November 17, was held in the community center of San José de Cervera. Again, the caseload was modest: 31 animals—10 female dogs, 9 male dogs, 6 female cats, and 6 male cats. One female dog had a complicated surgery, but she was fine when she left the campaign.
We are grateful to Julia Salido, our campaign manager, and to our surgeons, Drs. Ricardo Montes de Oca and Sandy Hernández, assisted by Abril Hernández (no relation), who’s about to receive her veterinary medicine degree. Thanks also to CHC Luigi Dog Trainer for the use of his excellent facility. Our volunteers on October 3 were Julie Boyles, Irene Campos, Mary Beth Canavan, Rosemarie Conde, Fran Espinosa, Tania García Gutiérrez, Joel Gaytán, Manuel Herrejón Martínez, Adhán Mata López, Gabriel Ramírez, Cintia Rodríguez Patrón, and Dulce Sandoval. Our volunteers of November 17 were Karla Ahumada, Julie Boyles, Herbert Cervantes, Rosemarie Conde, Fran Espinosa, Tony López, Beth Lozano, Adhán Mata, Sofía Montezuma, and Vicky Sandoval.
