On Giving Tuesday, November 28, which more and more countries are celebrating to support nonprofit organizations, we received donations amounting to $827 USD. We are very grateful to everyone who contributed their generous support.
We held our annual Christmas Market on Sunday, December 3, at Plaza Allende, a new location for us. On sale were holiday cookies, cakes, and other culinary goods prepared by our volunteers under the expert direction of Susan Pataky. Susan spent months raising money for the ingredients and weeks cooking and baking, handling online sales, and making home deliveries. Also sold were homemade dog and cat treats, Amigos tee shirts, and donated toys, colorful dog and cat collars, and Christmas ornaments. The Market raised $42,039 pesos, or $2168 at the exchange rate on December 3.
Next to our tables on December 3 were several tables and stands displaying many wonderful holiday gifts offered by Terri Rasmussen’s Tiny Tiendita. Terri has continued selling gifts at her own location during the last couple of weeks, and she has just sent us 8000 MXN ($471 USD), her proceeds from the recent sales.
A big thank you to Susan Pataky, Terri Rasmussen, and all who volunteered their help, ingredients, and items for the market; to those who turned out in person; and those who placed online orders to make this event so successful. Your generosity helps us sterilize dogs and cats in and around Guanajuato. Thanks again for your ongoing support. Looking forward to seeing you again next year!
