If you’ve been following our recent news articles about Niña, you know she’s ready for retirement. She was born in 2000 and has traveled nearly 197,000 miles. We depend on her at least twice a month to transport our equipment and supplies to our sterilization campaigns. Many of the campaign sites are in villages and city suburbs that can be reached only on unpaved roads with deep potholes.
We’ve been searching for a used but newer vehicle in good condition and with lower mileage that can accommodate all our equipment. We’ve narrowed the choice to several models that meet our criteria. But even used vehicles are expensive in Mexico, and so we’ve set our fundraising goal to replace Niña at $17,500 USD.
December 3 is Giving Tuesday, an international day of charitable giving. Please help us replace Niña by contributing whatever you can to Amigos on or before December 3. You can do so by clicking here.
With your help we’ll soon have a newer van. Which means we will need a new name for him or her. Please send us your suggestions!
